20 Things My Grandma Used to Say That Make More Sense Now
When I was younger, I found much of what my grandma said to be outdated and incoherent. I believed then she was just repeating her words in a previous generation. I did not even bother to consider why she was saying those things so frequently. I was occupied with my upbringing, my education of school, friends and the hurry of the new world. Her counsel was lethargic to my world. As an adult, I can now understand that most of her ideas were mere truths about life.
Things By Grandma
My grandma was a firm believer in patience and the ability to think. She was rather silent in her approach to problems and never hurried to respond. During my childhood years, I used to feel that she was too slow. I was in a hurry and wanted to find swift answers and fast results. Now, I understand that patience is the ability to avoid numerous errors. When individuals take their time and make their decisions wisely, they are likely to make better decisions. Life does not have to be moving as fast as we believe. When problems are left to time, they become smaller.
The other thing is that I now have a clearer understanding of the value of kindness. My grandma always taught that how we treat the other people is more important than most other aspects of life. Being kind as a child, I believed that being kind is only about being polite. When I became an older person, I noticed that being kind makes people trust and respect each other. Even minor things can have impact on other people than we imagine. The attitude of kind nature can transform any day of a person. In this busy and stressful world, kindness can make the life a more human and more connected.

She also thought of leading a simple life. As a young person, I believed that being simple meant doing without having fun or achieving something. As time went by, I started realizing that excessive noise and pressure will make life tiresome. An ordinary existence is usually more serene and clear. By concentrating on the things that are really important, we experience less stress and gratitude. My grandma did it without having to elaborate it using complex terms.

Now, I can say that her ideas were not out of date. They were mute teachings of how to live well. The meaning of them has become apparent to me through time. The things that were considered to be ordinary before have become meaningful and wise. As life goes on, I realize that most of the lessons that the older generations taught me remain applicable. It is only after we lead our own lives that we sometimes understand what they are saying. Do not forget to share the blog with your friends.
